Going to the skate show

Today we went to a skate show. It was so cool, we saw lots of tricks and at the end some of the people that wanted to could get a skate board and do some tricks with them. Some people got autographs .I got two oh I almost forgot I'm Caitlin, I'm not the journalist but Ms Wills told me if I wanted to I could go on so I did. After the skate show we went back to school, had our lunch, did some playing and here I am now bye!

Xtra Normal (an awesome website) and our pedometers

Yesterday we made movies on xtra normal.Xtra normal is a website where you make your on movies.First you choose characters, then you write the script,after you add on actions and expresions, lastly you change the backround and your characters voices. We also now have our pedometers lots of our class has heaps.Oh and the pedometers count how much steps we do in a day. Emma has :22580 and Jabe has: 8050 Jabes got reseted twice and Emmas got reseted once P.S its really annoying when they get reseted :p

Zacks Birthday and the weather.

On the 23 of May it was Zacks birthday. Here are some things he got: an MP3 player, a movie pass, Now 32 sound track, lego SRS rescue team, electronic chess, a remote control helicopter, lego creator. Today is a very wet day and there are some floods warnnings around mid Canturbry.

Last Day

Today it is Zack and Jess' last day on the blog. We hope you have enjoyed all of our blog posts and we would like to say thank you to all of those people who have left comments. we enjoyed them.

Indian food

Today Oskars Mum is bringing some indian food. THANK YOU!!! We are going to eat it with our hands, right hand(like we told you in one of our earlier posts). Here is Liyana doing an Indian dance. Ps the food was dELICious!!

Te Reo Maori

Today it's Friday and each Friday we do something called Te Reo Maori. The things we know: good morning in Maori, Tena koe e hoa:hello friend,Tena koe e tama! hello boy, tena koe e hine! hello girl, Tamaiti: child, tamaiki: children, Tena korua: hello to 2 people, Tena koutou:hello to more than 2 people:no hea koe? means where are you from?, Kei hea to kainga?: where is your home now. Here are some of the people doing there Maori dialogue.

Core library reading

3 weeks ago we started a thing called core library reading. We have to read the book till we have finished it. Then we do the questions. We might finish it next week because we're doing something new for reading. I wonder what it could to be?

Japanese Penpals

A few weeks ago we got posted some letters from some people in Japan/Tokyo. We have written to a boy named Ryutaro he is 9 and his favourite food is Tuna! He also likes Soccer. We wrote letters back to them answering and asking questions and saying thanks for their letters. We have all enjoyed writing and reading the letters. Lots of people have finished and sent theirs.

Paper plus presents

Today we recieved 2 presents from our sponsors Paper Plus. The presents are: Harry Potter Building cards and it comes with a little Harry Potter plastic doll she means action figure and a booklet on how to make the buildings there are 275 cards. The other thing is a What about you! The quistion mark is a bendypencil. It is awsome we like it alot.

Today we have Mrs Edwards. Right now we are doing some work in our words to go/language to go books. We are doing work on adjectives. Some people are doing some very good work.

Today we are doing P.E. The game we played is called defend the cone. The rules are: you have to stay on the pool board, you have to have both knees on the board at all times. We have been doing invasion games, we're working on playing games that you have to make space which helps to win the game.

Inquiry maps

Today 18 may we are learning to use maps. Here are some of the different types of maps: physical and political, Digtal, Climate, Natural Resource Use, Population, Maori Population, Natural Hazards. Right now we are doing a map guiz. Some people are doing it by them self's.Here are Emma and Zack and Ms Wills holding the map up to the class.

The heroes Disco

Last Friday it was the heroes disco! Tyler was one of the many people who went. Here are some of the songs Bob the builder, Taylor Swift you belong with me, Justin Bieber Baby, Barbie I'm a Barbie girl and Mrs bunny, waking in vages. There was drinks, chips and lots of glowsticks.. There was a compitition, the class who got the most people coming whould get a prize.the class who won was room 15 or room 14. At the disco they had 2 dancing competions then everbody played spin the bottle. The disco was awsome.

our reliever teacher....

Today we had a reliever her name was Mrs Bell. She's only been to the Philppines once which was in 1992. She is a good reliever. We learnt about the Philippines. They have a native eagle, it eats monkeys. It is really big and strong.

Artem

Artem was a very good and helpful student. But he moved to Mt Somers and we will all miss him in room 16. Artem was one of the smartest people in the class, he was in the second best maths group. (There is only one person in the top group and that's Oskar- he is the smartest in the class). Artem is from the Ukraine. It is near Russia and Belarus.

Set free!

Dannielle & Jacob T.M brought a pupa into School & surprised the class. We hung it on a wall in between 2 pins so that's why we named it pinpin. We waited about 2 weeks. We saw it go from green to black to white. When it was black it was transparent. The next day when we were at the libary it broke free!!!! The butterfly was clinging to the wall. We were so happy. It was bigger than we expected. It was beautiful. We discovered it was a male because it had spots on the insides of it's wings. Some of us were so upset when we set him free because we didn't want him to go. Pin-pin wasn't a very good flyer at first. But eventually he figured it out and flew up to a tree. Miss Church has had her cute baby. This is a picture of baby Jai he's so cute. Jai dosen't look like Miss Church yet, he look's like Mata his dad. On Friday Ms Wills got to hold Jai it must have been awsome.

WAR RESEARCH

Last week for homework we had to find out if we had any people in our family involved in the war (WW1 or WW2). Some people did, Molly made an awesome poster and Liyana made a cool booklet. She didn't even have any people in her family that went to war. Her booklet had a heap of interesting fact's, it also had a poem about WW2. Edwin Stapleton was Molly's great grandad he was in WW2. We did this for homework because it was Anzac day on April 25th.
